Staying Put

Okay so now we're not moving. Such a long story that I'm not going to bother. I'm bummed that I don't get some additional space to make a big doll mess in, but otherwise I'm happy. I'm entirely too pregnant for all that moving around.

Um, however, I'm totally nesting and getting in the "move" mood made me want to rearrange my house. But I can't do any heavy lifting so my husband had to do most of the tough stuff. Which lead me to whine (as he forced me to relax), "Man, nesting is not fair!" He, left to rearrange the laundry room on his own responded, "No, nesting is NOT fair!"

But now the chi flow in the house is wonderful and it feels like a real home.

But the doll room was sadly neglected. So I've been working on that. You see, it works okay but now little Iris (16 months) can reach into the dollhouses and ruin carefully constructed sushi dinners that my dolls are enjoying.

I HAVE been doing some doll things, but I've been too lazy to take pics.

One thing is for certain though. It's time for the caravan to get completed. Maybe I'll post some teaser pics later. Not ready to reveal the whole. I've dismantled some things, so they need re-doing. And really, why does Carmen the gypsy need a shower? She has no toilet, so now the bath area will be my kitchen. My tile looked like crap anyway.

Okay just checking in. I'll be back later or tomorrow with some pics of something!

smooches,
dani

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

Introducing Nymeria and the Alurium Vaccarra

Ever have a couple of days off Facebook and though you wonder what happened to your friends over the long weekend, you can help feeling a little peaceful? That's how I feel in my week of staying off the blogs and forums and various sites. But I missed a lot! So many cool posts! It's going to take a while to dig myself out. One must wonder, did my creative spurt have something to do with not being all over the web looking at what everyone else is doing? Anyway let's get to it. So on my birthday, my three Stardolls arrived! Aside from the outfit, that Paris one was not cute. I dunno, she's too boring looking. But Iris was THRILLED that she got a new, dressed doll. Well for a few minutes anyway. Did you know that they can't bend their legs? Like they can't sit down? Terrible. Anyway, the other two were great! Inspiring. Meet Valentina. A Columbiana who restores classic cars. She was very happy with a Liv body. She might be Nadia's next girlfriend, w...

The Return of Vita Plastica

Hi guys, good to be back! Let's get to it, I have a lot to cover. Basement Studio Like I said, I've moved my workshop into the basement. Soon I'll move all my crafty stuff down there and have upstairs purely as a showroom. So here's my workshop so far. Sigh. A work in progress. Dry Brushing I heart dry brushing. It's easy, it dries fast and even when you do a major screw up, it looks awesome. I strongly recommend it for those heavy of hand and prone to mistakes like me. I had one of these Barbie vanities. Was it a My Scene? The one that came with the leopard skin seat. It was originally peach I believe.  I painted it brown and it was serviceable but the model paint began to chip over the years, so I dry brushed it. Behold: It came out so well, I couldn't stop there. My next victim was the dining set I got in trade with Cat from Doll Affinity . I think this will go into Josephine's blue room. I forgot to take a picture, but you'll see ...
