Electronic Burnout!

Ever just get sick of blogging? I never get sick of writing but doing photos, uploading them, explaining, organizing is just giving me a headache! Maybe it's just because I'm sick and I've just started a new job and my brain is just SPENT at the end of the day.  Or my home computers each have their own separate issues.

Rest assured, my pretties, that I am still doing my thing. Nearly done with my airplane and researching the next big Grandville project (I'm keep my mouth shut this time). Dani will get married one of these days but I decided that Dani and Felix need a wedding present. A new house! Way to procrastinate, Human Dani!

smooches,
(human) dani

  2. Grrr...I posted the comment. It showed up twice, so I deleted one of them. Yep, you guessed it...both disappeared. Yes...technological burnout is imminent even more than before! lol

  3. I know the feeling. This morning I set out to do a quick story and post. I got to the studio and started and stopped at least 10 projects before settling in on what I was supposed to be doing to start. Now I have to get into sewing and food making mood. I have so many projects, I started using a project management software. It has helped.

  4. I know the feeling. I have moments of total doll lock out. I don't look, dress, or play with them when I get to that point. After work at times I don't even get near my computer for days. We'll be here when you get back to it :O)

  6. So glad I'm not alone! Vanessa, remember those doll project organization sheets I made a while back? Haven't touched them since!!

Maybe it's spring fever. This need we have to flush out the old and streamline!

  7. The good thing about the project management tool is I get a daily email telling me the last time I updated the list. Since I am addicted to email, I always open and then look to check some things off the list. Otherwise I would never look at the list either.

New Goodies!

But first, some news: Projects: Still working on the studio space for Remi and Bailey. The Hubs came in and voiced what was in my head, "So where is that kid supposed to sleep? That's messed up. There's no room for him?"  The last thing I wanted in Grandville is a kid's room. I don't want this rated R world changing into something wholesome. Buuut, if there is to be a custody battle for Julian, I have to make the case, right? So on top of the studio space, I'll build a little room for the brat to use. Maybe I'll give it a fun theme or something. Space or sci-fi or something that doesn't involve sports. I'm also working on a space backdrop for Nymeria and her sister. Then I can finally introduce you. I decided to go with a sort of cheesy 60's sci fi movie thing. That's what inspired the Alurium Vaccarra anyway. So, a sort of intentionally cartoony backdrop. The last project for now is my high school. I wanted it to be a three-...

[in that spongebob narrator voice] Ten Years Later

Well friends, it's been 10 years!  I'm not sure if any of my older friends and followers still blog or still read blogs.  I've been in the BJD hobby all this time a while it was satisfying and helped me to grow a lot as a dioramist, the call of the 1/6 scale dolls called back to me.   It was hard to make stories for BJDs because of the limited number of characters and sets.  While I no longer have a town to make stories with, nor (hardly) any of my original dolls, my new collection continues to grow and some of them are just itching to tell you all about themselves.  But these heauxs don't even have names except for two.  So lemme get on that... Returning to this hobby feels a bit lonely. My doll community was here in the blogosphere, my BJD community was through youtube and Facebook. Where are you, racy playscale collectors?  Let's get back together!  Instagram feels unsuitable for my needs. I'll see if I can direct traffic here. Who k...

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...
