Quickie Post

Hi guys,

Well, I've got some bad news.  We had a miscarriage last week. I'm still bummed out but I always make the best of a bad situation and look on the bright side. We are lucky it was early on. And it was such a surprise, we were really unprepared. We just downsized and got rid of all baby stuff.  And really, we are soooo close to the end of diapers and pull ups. It sucks to look so forward to something and have it snatched away but perhaps it was for the best, right?

It's hard to get back in the doll habit once you've been out of it but it's great therapy, no?

Anyway, I did some reorganizing and what not and I'm working on a few projects, so you'll see a post from me soon.

I feel so rusty! I need to do some experimenting so I can get back in the swing of these projects!

Anyway m'loves, I'll post something by the end of the week to let you know wuzzup in Grandville.

Fear Manor is now gone (will likely return), so Miss Fear is not feeling this homeless crap. She's demanded a new home immediately. I guess I'll have to find a body for that boyfriend I got her ages ago.

smooches,
dani

  1. I'm sorry Dani! My mother also had a miscarriage a while back, and was also thankful it was early instead of later. Maybe returing after a long hiatus will revitalize you with new ideas!

New Goodies!

But first, some news: Projects: Still working on the studio space for Remi and Bailey. The Hubs came in and voiced what was in my head, "So where is that kid supposed to sleep? That's messed up. There's no room for him?"  The last thing I wanted in Grandville is a kid's room. I don't want this rated R world changing into something wholesome. Buuut, if there is to be a custody battle for Julian, I have to make the case, right? So on top of the studio space, I'll build a little room for the brat to use. Maybe I'll give it a fun theme or something. Space or sci-fi or something that doesn't involve sports. I'm also working on a space backdrop for Nymeria and her sister. Then I can finally introduce you. I decided to go with a sort of cheesy 60's sci fi movie thing. That's what inspired the Alurium Vaccarra anyway. So, a sort of intentionally cartoony backdrop. The last project for now is my high school. I wanted it to be a three-...

[in that spongebob narrator voice] Ten Years Later

Well friends, it's been 10 years!  I'm not sure if any of my older friends and followers still blog or still read blogs.  I've been in the BJD hobby all this time a while it was satisfying and helped me to grow a lot as a dioramist, the call of the 1/6 scale dolls called back to me.   It was hard to make stories for BJDs because of the limited number of characters and sets.  While I no longer have a town to make stories with, nor (hardly) any of my original dolls, my new collection continues to grow and some of them are just itching to tell you all about themselves.  But these heauxs don't even have names except for two.  So lemme get on that... Returning to this hobby feels a bit lonely. My doll community was here in the blogosphere, my BJD community was through youtube and Facebook. Where are you, racy playscale collectors?  Let's get back together!  Instagram feels unsuitable for my needs. I'll see if I can direct traffic here. Who k...

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...
