How Penny Gets her Groove Back

'Sup.

Man, it's been a minute, huh? So I might have mentioned I'm working on a big project. It's going well but with only two hours to work on it a day (after kiddie bed time), it's slow. I think I'll do the reveal in a week or two.

So I haven't been doing much doll play. But I've been buying supplies for the project and loads of doll clothes. But no time to photograph them or dress a doll in them. But today I took a little time to finally introduce Peeta (Grandville name TBD).

Even though photography is still a challenge, I forgot how satisfying it is to play out these little lives.

While not a full photostory, I'm moving things forward at least.

Penny stops by Hot Wax & Heroes on her way home.
Hmm, she thinks, I don't recognize that skateboard. I guess Ian has company.

"Hey Ian. Oh!"
"Hey Penny, this is Malcolm."

"I haven't seen you around. Are you new to Grandville?"
"Yeah me and my parents just moved up here. I would have come sooner if I knew there were such beautiful girls."
Penny giggles and blushes.
Ian fidgets.

"It's really good to meet you Penny. So can I call you some time?"

Penny wasn't attracted to Record Store Ian, but he was her friend and she couldn't bear to hurt him.

"Um, I better go."
"Oh. Can I walk you home?"

"Nope. I live just next door.  See you in school maybe?"
"Whah?" Malcolm sighs.

Penny walks out with a strut, giggling.

It's about time that Penny got some joy in her life. But poor Ian.

Okay I'll do an acquisitions post tomorrow. Got some great new goodies from Blinky's and Nommy Miniatures and good 'ol Amazon.com

smooches,
dani

  3. I love your shop setting. Playscale as if it were 1:1.

Yay, Penny. Malcolm is cute, but she doesn't have to jump at his beck ;-)

    1. Thanks D7ana. Well she is progressing. Her last relationship with Zeke was so unhealthy. At least she didn't throw herself all over Malcolm.

  4. I love her restraint. Very cool dio, too.

  5. It's nice to see your Shia figure. I have two of those dolls and haven't used them because of the wonky arm. Seeing yours, gives me hope. Love the shop!

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

New Goodies!

But first, some news: Projects: Still working on the studio space for Remi and Bailey. The Hubs came in and voiced what was in my head, "So where is that kid supposed to sleep? That's messed up. There's no room for him?"  The last thing I wanted in Grandville is a kid's room. I don't want this rated R world changing into something wholesome. Buuut, if there is to be a custody battle for Julian, I have to make the case, right? So on top of the studio space, I'll build a little room for the brat to use. Maybe I'll give it a fun theme or something. Space or sci-fi or something that doesn't involve sports. I'm also working on a space backdrop for Nymeria and her sister. Then I can finally introduce you. I decided to go with a sort of cheesy 60's sci fi movie thing. That's what inspired the Alurium Vaccarra anyway. So, a sort of intentionally cartoony backdrop. The last project for now is my high school. I wanted it to be a three-...

[in that spongebob narrator voice] Ten Years Later

Well friends, it's been 10 years!  I'm not sure if any of my older friends and followers still blog or still read blogs.  I've been in the BJD hobby all this time a while it was satisfying and helped me to grow a lot as a dioramist, the call of the 1/6 scale dolls called back to me.   It was hard to make stories for BJDs because of the limited number of characters and sets.  While I no longer have a town to make stories with, nor (hardly) any of my original dolls, my new collection continues to grow and some of them are just itching to tell you all about themselves.  But these heauxs don't even have names except for two.  So lemme get on that... Returning to this hobby feels a bit lonely. My doll community was here in the blogosphere, my BJD community was through youtube and Facebook. Where are you, racy playscale collectors?  Let's get back together!  Instagram feels unsuitable for my needs. I'll see if I can direct traffic here. Who k...
