The Weekend in Pictures.

And that's about all you're going to get as an apology for my picture quality today. I was rushing so I didn't even bother trying to get a good picture out of this.

I did loads of work this weekend, mostly the fun part which is putting little details in the rooms.

Dani and Felix's kitchen:

Tea Time in Josephine's Living Room:
Josephine's Foyer:
Josephine cozying up with Gypsy Ken. That's temporary flooring by the way:
Josephine's kitchen. Voila! Brie avec baguette et vin. Tres magnifique!
Nadia sees her crush Miho at the record store. "Did I wave too hard? Look too happy to see her?"
The Vinyls audition a new keytar player. And boy is she cute...
The Dynamite girls meet for dinner.

Finally figured out a personality for Alanna (Dynamite girl TJ): Super rich spoiled socialite. So she HAD to have the Jonathan Adler couch.
Josephine's balcony door. Meh, I'm not thrilled with it. Consider it a work in progress.

Let's talk about another disappointment. Josephine's bed. It just sucks. The duvet is okay but really Josephine needs a much grander bed...
One last disappointment. I tried desperately to straighten Gypsy Carmen's hair this weekend and this is as far as it wants to go. I must have dipped and poured boiling water over her 100 times! Why is she still so frizzy?! So maybe I'll resign myself to this thick naps. Any other tips on what to do? All my other dolls have straightened beautifully. :(

That about does it! Have a great day everyone!

Oh and I did order my Luxurious item #2! Fashion Royalty luggage!!! I'm so excited.

smooches,
dani

  1. You've got some fantastic rooms put together! Fantastic!I hope you do get around to taking some more pics of them.

About the hair--I can think of two possible reasons....

    1) is the hair might have ended up "over cooked" during one of the boil perm/straightening attempts. That can happen and the hair gets frizzy.

    2) you might have to actually "stretch" out the hair (where the waves are) I don't really think that's as likely but it could be...

  2. Thanks Corset Kitten! Maybe this is fate telling me to start attempting some re-roots? Hee hee!

  3. Hehe! It could be!
I don't know if you'd tired it, but you could also thoroughly wet her hair & work some heavy duty-hold type hair gel in. That will help with the frizz factor. The only negative is that you'll probably have to do it every month or so (wash it out and re apply) to keep it from getting old and flaky.

I've just broken down and ordered my own FP Kyori. ;)

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

Grandville Summer Festival!

Hello doll friends, First up, I gotta show you this. My 4 year old was playing with my Barbie cast-offs and set up this little scene. (That yellow thing on the table is a TV shaped eraser.) Dig the lamp she made with a wedding cake and the pole from maybe a Barbie dress form? Adorbs. Anyway, this weather (raining pretty much daily for the last month or so) has wrecked my spray painting plans. Much of the royal storyline rests on this painting project. So for now I decided to continue the other stories I have going. Enjoy: "Ho-ly crap, what on earth are you wearing?" "Aw, Sook, I feel bad enough."   "Seriously. You are wearing khakis. You look cray cray. You're like somebody's mom right now. Please explain this situation." "My boss said my outfit was too sexy so I had to borrow something from Le Skater Dork over there at the cafe. Jeez, now I owe her one. Oh crap Channel 1 News is here."   "Thanks John. Lavita...

New Goodies!

But first, some news: Projects: Still working on the studio space for Remi and Bailey. The Hubs came in and voiced what was in my head, "So where is that kid supposed to sleep? That's messed up. There's no room for him?"  The last thing I wanted in Grandville is a kid's room. I don't want this rated R world changing into something wholesome. Buuut, if there is to be a custody battle for Julian, I have to make the case, right? So on top of the studio space, I'll build a little room for the brat to use. Maybe I'll give it a fun theme or something. Space or sci-fi or something that doesn't involve sports. I'm also working on a space backdrop for Nymeria and her sister. Then I can finally introduce you. I decided to go with a sort of cheesy 60's sci fi movie thing. That's what inspired the Alurium Vaccarra anyway. So, a sort of intentionally cartoony backdrop. The last project for now is my high school. I wanted it to be a three-...
