Happy 100 Followers!

Found my camera cord and just in time. Vita Plastica has reached 100 followers and all without a significant presence in the doll world other than this blog of ramblings and sub-par doll pics. You people like my demented mind.

I have been really lucky to be part of such a wonderful community of artists. So to thank you for your support and for all being so inspiring, I'm offering giveaway. Just leave a comment and you will enter in the drawing for her. Please don't comment if you're not interested. I guess I'll do the drawing, what, April 1st? You see how official I am being about this thing.

Look, I'm Dani, and that means I'm not going to trick you with a bunch of flowery language. I'm going to be very honest at the risk of making this doll seem unattractive.

I present to you, ladies and gentlemen, Seashore Rebel Natalia. She will come with all her original accessories. She is a used doll. She (along with two others from her line) was my first Fashion Royalty doll. And she's been played with. But not for a few years.

Her body is pretty good condition. Not too loosey goosey. She's not as wonky as I have posed her. Sorry kid. Some discoloring. Elbow joints were sort at odds with the middle arm piece, but damage isn't significant. Body seems to have aged in different shades. Is that hunched over early FR body.

Her hair is still pretty silky with a side part.

I'm sorry I neglected to get a shot of the back of the bathing suit. It looks like a 2 piece from the back, with a two separate hook closures.

Original jewelry is included but kind of tarnished. The anklets go through the back of the shoes, but I never used them much. Too impossible. They're a little tarnished as well. Original stand included (likely a different telescopic pole). Pretty scratched up.

Purse is in beautiful condition and I really really hated parting with it.

She's got a great face for a repaint artist. Way harsh makeup.

She'll come in an FR box, but not her own, which has become too beat up. I think this box belongs to Flight Pattern Kyori.

Well there she is folks. Just enter a comment if you're interested and you will enter the drawing to win her! She's no spring chicken but she and her parts can still fetch you a penny or two.

Good luck!

smooches,
dani

Doll Dyeing

So I had this BJD friend with this sad doll that I just fell in love with.  I knew they had issues bonding and I knew that baby had to be mine. I told her to let me know if she ever wanted to sell. She didn't do that but listed her anyway. (I thought we were cool, man.)  I was very lucky that the first person who wanted her stepped aside.  I thought if I lost this girl I would have a breakdown.

You see, she was very special.  She had a history.  Here's what I can gather:  she was purchased by this shady ass dude in the hobby. Everyone knows he is shady.
So he hired a faceup artist to paint the face and give her scarring. He never explained that he wanted raised scars, not gashes in the resin.  I've seen the proof that she wrote up the agreement for this guy and the work was just GORGEOUS.

He claims she damaged it. Whatever.  So apparently there were attempts from this guy to sell her with no luck and he eventually gave it away and my doll acquaintance won her.  She dyed h…

Re-introducing Aniata and her Diorama

Hello Doll Peeps!

I have loads of new items for sale so click on the shopping ladies on the right. Most of the first tier stuff is gone so lots of discounted stuff!

When we last spoke, my doll was named Kala. I had posted her in the BJD Addicts group and a few people remarked that she looked like a Taino. My family is Haitian and my husband's is Puerto Rican, the Tainos lived in both. I thought this was fortuitous. So I emailed my aunt, a fan of the Taino and told her about the doll and that I needed a new name. Kala was always supposed to be temporary and I feared it was taking hold.

She said, "I feel like her name is Aniata." And I knew it was right. It's hard to get the tongue around but if you just pronounce the T softly, like in Anita, then it's much more natural.

Anyway introducing Aniata!  (Doll nudity ahead.)

I've been working on the hut like crazy since the last post. While I waited for paint and glue to dry, I made Aniata stuff. I made her necklace…

An Official Farewell

Hi Guys,

I don't know if you're still reading this but I'm officially taking this blog offline. It was so fun to be part of the 1/6th scale doll community and on Facebook at least, I still am. But I feel like the BJD community is mostly on other platforms.

I'll always be at vitaplastica.com and you can reach me at the gmail of the same name.  Hey, I may even start a blog over on the site, so who knows?

Here's a picture of nearly all my doll family (missing Doll Chateau Alma, who doesn't have a face up yet, and an Impldoll Martin head.)

EDIT: Blogger will STILL not let me comment. haha.  Anyway, due to the very positive response, I will not take this blog down. I remember how heartbroken I was that Smidgehouse didn't leave hers up. So I'll keep this here forever, okay?

I might even post a link to any blog posts on my website. See you...always!

It's be great collecting and growing with you!

smooches,
dani
