You Knew I Wasn't Going Anywhere

Okay well I guess my third hiatus is a failure as well. Let's just say I'll post when I can, when I have something to report. The Hubs is taking both the girls out tomorrow so I can finally start constructing my space ship. What space ship, you say?

Well, the Hubs had this awesome wooden 60's light fixture and why he let me have this beautiful thing, I do not know, but I thought it would make a great space ship.  Then I found this outfit on Ebay and it's so weird, I had to have it for my alien lady (or time traveler, not sure yet).

Anywho, we went to Big Lots today and I hoped for a great Barbie and World Peacekeepers selection or even a good pillar candle holder to make into a table. But it was slim pickin's for folks like us. I did however get manage to get some treasures.

I don't collect Monster High, but I do enjoy looking at your pictures of them and as a whole I really like them. (Just can't get addicted to a doll that can't share clothes with the others). Anyway these speakers where too cute and just $6.  Oh and those are LED tea lights if you can't see them.

The Hubs bought Spiderman 3 and it came with these tiny comic books:
They're full of tiny writing and everything! I know Ian the guy who runs the record store is going to totally dork out over these.

And I spent only about $20 for all of it including the movie. Go Year of Prosperity!

  1. Wow! LED tealights. I need those. The comic books are wonderful, too. No fair you coming back and convincing us to spend money.

  2. You can never stay away too long :O)

I saw those tealights and couldn't think of what to do with them. I may have to pick up Spiderman 3 just for the mini comics :O)

  3. I once used mine to light a plastic jack-o-lantern. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to use them for. I might build a light fixture for them or light one and sit it behind a couch for additional lighting. I also have a ceramic fireplace (http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/porcelain-campfire?source=family) that I painted. Maybe I'll use them around my new spaceship...Like I need a reason to buy some crap to take up space in my house!

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

New Goodies!

But first, some news: Projects: Still working on the studio space for Remi and Bailey. The Hubs came in and voiced what was in my head, "So where is that kid supposed to sleep? That's messed up. There's no room for him?"  The last thing I wanted in Grandville is a kid's room. I don't want this rated R world changing into something wholesome. Buuut, if there is to be a custody battle for Julian, I have to make the case, right? So on top of the studio space, I'll build a little room for the brat to use. Maybe I'll give it a fun theme or something. Space or sci-fi or something that doesn't involve sports. I'm also working on a space backdrop for Nymeria and her sister. Then I can finally introduce you. I decided to go with a sort of cheesy 60's sci fi movie thing. That's what inspired the Alurium Vaccarra anyway. So, a sort of intentionally cartoony backdrop. The last project for now is my high school. I wanted it to be a three-...

[in that spongebob narrator voice] Ten Years Later

Well friends, it's been 10 years!  I'm not sure if any of my older friends and followers still blog or still read blogs.  I've been in the BJD hobby all this time a while it was satisfying and helped me to grow a lot as a dioramist, the call of the 1/6 scale dolls called back to me.   It was hard to make stories for BJDs because of the limited number of characters and sets.  While I no longer have a town to make stories with, nor (hardly) any of my original dolls, my new collection continues to grow and some of them are just itching to tell you all about themselves.  But these heauxs don't even have names except for two.  So lemme get on that... Returning to this hobby feels a bit lonely. My doll community was here in the blogosphere, my BJD community was through youtube and Facebook. Where are you, racy playscale collectors?  Let's get back together!  Instagram feels unsuitable for my needs. I'll see if I can direct traffic here. Who k...
