Unmotivated

Ever have one of those days? Where you are totally unmotivated to do ANYTHING. Even, gulp, doll things? That was my Sunday. I suppose all the hormones and such just made me feel down. All I wanted to do was watch TV. But we quit our TV addiction, so I mostly just whined.

Then the Hubs went out and got us a digital converter and antenna! We actually watched the Simpsons for the first time in ages. And realized, much to my horror 1. Iris loves Barney and 2. Barney was singing a version of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough. Okay TV, I'm going to start slow with you...

Anyway, I'll have some pics for you soonish. I practically have all of next week off so there is no excuse! (Except that whole carrying around another person thing)

Oh but on Saturday I finished my nightclub set and realized even more the awesome posability of action figure girls. Everyone else was tumbling over with the least agitation, but Dusty held strong in her dancing pose.

smooches,
dani

  1. Hey, I think you're being too hard on yourself Dani! It's a hobby, remember? Which means you should have fun---it's not a "have to do"! ;) (*says the girl who does that all the time LOL*)

Relax & take your time. Take pics when you can and when you feel like it. There's nothing wrong with having some down-time/ junkfood-for-the-mind time!

  2. Thanks CK. I haven't even gone near a doll all weekend. I do feel guilty. It's like the sooner I take a picture, the sooner I can re-pose them. They're frozen in time, poor things.

But it's my birthday weekend and I'm going to enjoy some family time and relaxation!

Still (and I'm sure you feel this way at times), there is a sort of emptiness and mild anxiety or restlessness that comes with NOT doing any crafty/doll related things...

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

Introducing Nymeria and the Alurium Vaccarra

Ever have a couple of days off Facebook and though you wonder what happened to your friends over the long weekend, you can help feeling a little peaceful? That's how I feel in my week of staying off the blogs and forums and various sites. But I missed a lot! So many cool posts! It's going to take a while to dig myself out. One must wonder, did my creative spurt have something to do with not being all over the web looking at what everyone else is doing? Anyway let's get to it. So on my birthday, my three Stardolls arrived! Aside from the outfit, that Paris one was not cute. I dunno, she's too boring looking. But Iris was THRILLED that she got a new, dressed doll. Well for a few minutes anyway. Did you know that they can't bend their legs? Like they can't sit down? Terrible. Anyway, the other two were great! Inspiring. Meet Valentina. A Columbiana who restores classic cars. She was very happy with a Liv body. She might be Nadia's next girlfriend, w...

The Return of Vita Plastica

Hi guys, good to be back! Let's get to it, I have a lot to cover. Basement Studio Like I said, I've moved my workshop into the basement. Soon I'll move all my crafty stuff down there and have upstairs purely as a showroom. So here's my workshop so far. Sigh. A work in progress. Dry Brushing I heart dry brushing. It's easy, it dries fast and even when you do a major screw up, it looks awesome. I strongly recommend it for those heavy of hand and prone to mistakes like me. I had one of these Barbie vanities. Was it a My Scene? The one that came with the leopard skin seat. It was originally peach I believe.  I painted it brown and it was serviceable but the model paint began to chip over the years, so I dry brushed it. Behold: It came out so well, I couldn't stop there. My next victim was the dining set I got in trade with Cat from Doll Affinity . I think this will go into Josephine's blue room. I forgot to take a picture, but you'll see ...
