My First Reroot

Okay technically speaking I never actually announced that this was an assignment. So I'm sorry if any of you were following along. I guess I figured since I totally avoided my vehicle assignment, I might as well do something else productive.

So I'll put the details on my site http://www.vitaplastica.com/hair.html

I think by now you're familiar with June, my transsexual. She finally got her reroot completed. I even thatched a new part in her hair. Though, really, I should have painted her head first.

Okay not the most awesome reroot I've ever seen but for a my first time, I'm pretty happy.

BUT, despite myself, ever since I cut those brunette hanks off, June has been giving me a total straight guy vibe. The Hubs says it's the Harley body. Sorry June, you're not allowed to throw off my story line again.

So I pierced her ears. Now I feel better.

Dang, this gal needs some clothes! Even Ms. Fear's old top is insufficient. But Dusty's pants work out okay.

All in all I'm pretty happy with June. Now for makeup! I need to research drag queen makeup. They shading and contouring they do is insane.

  1. Great job on the reroot! You're so creative in your story telling, I love it. The pose in the second photo makes me think of The Silence of the Lambs..."It puts the lotion in the basket..." lol. But I totally get the transsexual vibe from June.

    Can't wait to see more.

  3. I like June :O) If you have stretchy clothes from Barbie they should fit. I've put some stretchy dresses on the bigger ladies like Jakks Pacific's Rosi O'Donnell doll. It's worth a shot

  4. That should read and Rosie O'Donnell's doll..lol

  5. That works for some action figure girls but June has some massive shoulders and this wide chest. Maybe she'll inspire me to finally make some doll clothes! I'm going to check my outerwear and see what can be left open...

  6. I love this. I am totally going to add a transgendered character to my daughter's collection

Introducing Ayumi

I haven't been feeling particularly inspired with stories in Grandville, but their plastic lives are being led, with or without my story telling. And I have to practice my photography so instead I'm going to do a Cliff Notes if you will, of what has been going on in Grandville and who all these new characters are. First up, Ayumi. I might give her a new name at some point. I hate keeping the Integrity name but sometimes it just happens. She is a Korean supermodel who uses her funds to support her research as an astrophysicist. She got her Ph.D. at 18. This is Ayumi's house. Well, one of them. This is Ayumi's boyfriend of 10 months, Raj Nirvana. He's a yoga instructor. They have a harmonious relationship. Still, she wonders about that girl Marie. They seem to do a lot of talking after his yoga class. Ayumi loves hanging out with her girls. Nothing quite as fun as a day of shopping. Claire sighs, "How weird to have a bank account. ...

Introducing Nymeria and the Alurium Vaccarra

Ever have a couple of days off Facebook and though you wonder what happened to your friends over the long weekend, you can help feeling a little peaceful? That's how I feel in my week of staying off the blogs and forums and various sites. But I missed a lot! So many cool posts! It's going to take a while to dig myself out. One must wonder, did my creative spurt have something to do with not being all over the web looking at what everyone else is doing? Anyway let's get to it. So on my birthday, my three Stardolls arrived! Aside from the outfit, that Paris one was not cute. I dunno, she's too boring looking. But Iris was THRILLED that she got a new, dressed doll. Well for a few minutes anyway. Did you know that they can't bend their legs? Like they can't sit down? Terrible. Anyway, the other two were great! Inspiring. Meet Valentina. A Columbiana who restores classic cars. She was very happy with a Liv body. She might be Nadia's next girlfriend, w...

The Return of Vita Plastica

Hi guys, good to be back! Let's get to it, I have a lot to cover. Basement Studio Like I said, I've moved my workshop into the basement. Soon I'll move all my crafty stuff down there and have upstairs purely as a showroom. So here's my workshop so far. Sigh. A work in progress. Dry Brushing I heart dry brushing. It's easy, it dries fast and even when you do a major screw up, it looks awesome. I strongly recommend it for those heavy of hand and prone to mistakes like me. I had one of these Barbie vanities. Was it a My Scene? The one that came with the leopard skin seat. It was originally peach I believe.  I painted it brown and it was serviceable but the model paint began to chip over the years, so I dry brushed it. Behold: It came out so well, I couldn't stop there. My next victim was the dining set I got in trade with Cat from Doll Affinity . I think this will go into Josephine's blue room. I forgot to take a picture, but you'll see ...
