I Don't Want to Do This

Sigh. I don't know if you can tell by my posts, but I'm a very open person. I don't have secrets. I don't believe in them. You take away power from a person or thing when you are open and vulnerable. But enough about all my BS that's about to come to naught when faced with the horrors of revealing my mess to you.

A few people did not want to post tours of their doll areas. Hey, we all have the right to privacy. Something so personal adds another (sometimes unwanted) dimension to your blogging, to your doll world.

And I was sooooo confident I was going to show all ya'll my messy room and stand proudly behind it. And the few who don't want anything to do with this project just gave me confidence. Maybe we all have messy doll spaces? No one will judge me.

Still, reviewing the video, I am nervous.

Listen, it's messy okay? I'm a sloppy but clean person. So the only little creatures that may pop up are Iris and Isobel (human children). And by the way my voice is all gravelly because it's morning and I haven't even had coffee yet. And I sound over it because I'm trying to get this done quickly in one take. Okay enough apologizing. Here goes:

After packing up everyone and all the furniture, I had to sort all of my junk into the proper bins:

Into THESE:

But that's about it. Aside from random junk, everything is packed away and ready for moving.

Stay tuned for part two in which I unpack everything. Le sigh.

smooches,

  1. Hey that was great. I will say my mess was/is worse than yours. You're not as messy as you think. I hope to get my stuff down to less than half of what I own now. It will take time but I will promise a pic or 2 of my room progress.

  2. Wow, you have so much great dolly stuff!!! LOVE, love, lOVE your dollhouses! You've inspired me to do more with my 3 story dollhouse in my closet and one of my other Ikea shelving units. You're very talented and we definitely have the same taste in dolls. :)

Good luck on your move! Hopefully, you'll do another doll room tour once you guys get settled in, *hint*.

  3. So where is the mess? Looks pretty good to me. It's just dolly messy, it's not messy messy. Like I said, I am pretty organized except for the fabrics. Once I figure that out I wll be golden. I need to buy some small storage bins that will fit nicely on the shelf unit I built. But every time I think about spending $50 - $100 on storage bins, I think of all the wonderful doll stuff I could buy with that money. Side note: You and the hubby are gorgeous. I love seeing real pictures of people. They never look like what I imagine.

  4. Dani, your dolly stuff is not messy at all especially compared to mine. Lol! I am working on downsizing my collection. My problem is my to keep pile is much bigger than the sale pile is. By the way, I love your rooms.

  5. Girl that looks like my wooden closet I have with all my personal items and then I have some doll stuff in there too! It's not messy messy but, I do see where things need to be put in place!

  6. Really? Wow! I'm glad to hear it's not that bad. I have such hopes for the new place....

  7. It's just a packed room. I wouldn't say messy at all. Loved the tour. And your after pictures put me in shock. How anyone can organize their doll stuff like that is way beyond me. Got any tips? :-)

  8. Thanks Michelle.

Everything is still boxed and I can't wait to dig in and get started. I'll be sure to share pics.

  9. This was quite a treat to see! Thank you for sharing this with us. Trust me, you are not messy and I am the same way--junky but not dirty. I loved how you snap shot sections of the doll homes..it was like seeing a preview of a soap opera. You paint the scenery so well. Oh, and you and your husband are beautiful indeed.

We need a tutorial or something on how to easily organize dolly material.

Oh, and you have such a pleasant voice!

Grandville Summer Festival!

Hello doll friends, First up, I gotta show you this. My 4 year old was playing with my Barbie cast-offs and set up this little scene. (That yellow thing on the table is a TV shaped eraser.) Dig the lamp she made with a wedding cake and the pole from maybe a Barbie dress form? Adorbs. Anyway, this weather (raining pretty much daily for the last month or so) has wrecked my spray painting plans. Much of the royal storyline rests on this painting project. So for now I decided to continue the other stories I have going. Enjoy: "Ho-ly crap, what on earth are you wearing?" "Aw, Sook, I feel bad enough."   "Seriously. You are wearing khakis. You look cray cray. You're like somebody's mom right now. Please explain this situation." "My boss said my outfit was too sexy so I had to borrow something from Le Skater Dork over there at the cafe. Jeez, now I owe her one. Oh crap Channel 1 News is here."   "Thanks John. Lavita

Zee Gypsies!

I'm home today, the kids are at school (half day), so I decided to take some pictures with my little window of time. I rarely show the gypsies and one of you guys requested it, so here they are! "Hello, I am Carmen Kirpachi. Welcome to our home." "This is my husband Milosh." "Hallo."  "This is my brother, Franco. While his gaje girlfriend Josephine is in Paris, he's spending a lot more time with us." "Excuse me, I have to put some more wood in the stove so I can get dinner started." "My goat stew is Milosh's favorite but we need to get the pot hot first." "This is my living area, also known as Franco's bedroom. But we don't mind. The Romany love having family around." "Milosh says I drive like a fugitive so he doesn't let me drive very often." "But sometimes I put a glamour on him and he forgets how much he hates my driving." "

Introducing Nymeria and the Alurium Vaccarra

Ever have a couple of days off Facebook and though you wonder what happened to your friends over the long weekend, you can help feeling a little peaceful? That's how I feel in my week of staying off the blogs and forums and various sites. But I missed a lot! So many cool posts! It's going to take a while to dig myself out. One must wonder, did my creative spurt have something to do with not being all over the web looking at what everyone else is doing? Anyway let's get to it. So on my birthday, my three Stardolls arrived! Aside from the outfit, that Paris one was not cute. I dunno, she's too boring looking. But Iris was THRILLED that she got a new, dressed doll. Well for a few minutes anyway. Did you know that they can't bend their legs? Like they can't sit down? Terrible. Anyway, the other two were great! Inspiring. Meet Valentina. A Columbiana who restores classic cars. She was very happy with a Liv body. She might be Nadia's next girlfriend, w
