Remi and Bailey's Part Two

Okay so the place is done. Ish. The studio is of course, still really raw. And I didn't estimate the actually space properly, so I had to turn the room around. What was imagined to be this:

Is now this. Which I actually prefer. Originally it was going to be in the back of the structure so we could have a peek of paint splattered walls from the living room.
So that has to be cleaned up a bit.

Anyway, here's the tour:

Ooops, the stairs are still in my basement workshop.

Here's the main level. Correction: Here is Remi shirtless on the main level. Grrrowl!

Here's the upper level. Hmm, can't see much up there, can you? This is going to need a redesign unless I move the house to a shorter table.

Here's what's upstairs now.  Yeah, you're not missing a whole lot.

"You may be acquainted with our shared studio."

"That flesh woman promised me a TV! I'm missing Dr. Who!" Remi frets.

The room divider. My mom found this in a thrift store for me. I knew I'd have to build a home around it.

"Here is where I will cook our many meals."

"Dude, there's nothing in here but daikon and hot sauce."

"I sure wish some big strappin' man would hang my kitchen shelving."

Here is a potential front entrance area. But it will likely not have a working door. It will interfere with the spiral stair.

"Thanks for visiting our new home!"

To come: revamp of the upstairs barrier, art, maybe windows, I have the worst luck with them.  And I'll spent some quality time roughing up the studio

Now, onto my next project!! (Gimme a coupla weeks, some stuff coming in from China).

Smooches,
dani

UPDATE: Just saw this on Facebook from the Chicago Kenvention. Totally stealing the top level barrier idea!

  1. May I just say how I am so blown away with your incredible use of foam core board?!?! Once I move (hopefully in the next couple of months) I may have to get rid of Mattel issued structures and pick your brain!! So much more space and realism! *hugs*

    1. I am really excited for the potential! Plus with Smidgegirl's advice to rip the paper off foamcore, I can paint with freedom now. Plus the T-pins help keep it from warping too much. YAY!

  2. Love their home they are so cute together, i cant wait to see your new project

  3. This couple is too flippin' cute! For some reason, I get a vibe off them that they're like 1/6 size of you and your hubby before the beautiful little ones. They're my favorite couple of Grandville.

Now, on to that fantabulous studio...that's HOT! Kudos to your mom on that room/divider bookshelf...SCORE! I'm really feeling the side entrance area. I can see them hangin' out with friends...too cute.

I'm sorry Dani, but the more I look at this "home" I have to steal this idea from you. Like I mentioned last post, I can place it up high on the closet shelf and my little one can't get to it. Bravo!!

    1. Thanks Ro! She is the best. She also gave me this crazy old wood file sorter. I'm going to make it into a couch for my niece's American Girl Doll I think.

  8. Love the loft. My favorite is Bailey posing trying to get her shelves put up. By the way, I was staring for a while looking for the TV they appeared to be watching. LOL! I looked high and I looked low. Too funny. Great divider. Way to go mom. Looking forward to the new project.

Grandville Summer Festival!

Hello doll friends, First up, I gotta show you this. My 4 year old was playing with my Barbie cast-offs and set up this little scene. (That yellow thing on the table is a TV shaped eraser.) Dig the lamp she made with a wedding cake and the pole from maybe a Barbie dress form? Adorbs. Anyway, this weather (raining pretty much daily for the last month or so) has wrecked my spray painting plans. Much of the royal storyline rests on this painting project. So for now I decided to continue the other stories I have going. Enjoy: "Ho-ly crap, what on earth are you wearing?" "Aw, Sook, I feel bad enough."   "Seriously. You are wearing khakis. You look cray cray. You're like somebody's mom right now. Please explain this situation." "My boss said my outfit was too sexy so I had to borrow something from Le Skater Dork over there at the cafe. Jeez, now I owe her one. Oh crap Channel 1 News is here."   "Thanks John. Lavita

Zee Gypsies!

I'm home today, the kids are at school (half day), so I decided to take some pictures with my little window of time. I rarely show the gypsies and one of you guys requested it, so here they are! "Hello, I am Carmen Kirpachi. Welcome to our home." "This is my husband Milosh." "Hallo."  "This is my brother, Franco. While his gaje girlfriend Josephine is in Paris, he's spending a lot more time with us." "Excuse me, I have to put some more wood in the stove so I can get dinner started." "My goat stew is Milosh's favorite but we need to get the pot hot first." "This is my living area, also known as Franco's bedroom. But we don't mind. The Romany love having family around." "Milosh says I drive like a fugitive so he doesn't let me drive very often." "But sometimes I put a glamour on him and he forgets how much he hates my driving." "

Introducing Nymeria and the Alurium Vaccarra

Ever have a couple of days off Facebook and though you wonder what happened to your friends over the long weekend, you can help feeling a little peaceful? That's how I feel in my week of staying off the blogs and forums and various sites. But I missed a lot! So many cool posts! It's going to take a while to dig myself out. One must wonder, did my creative spurt have something to do with not being all over the web looking at what everyone else is doing? Anyway let's get to it. So on my birthday, my three Stardolls arrived! Aside from the outfit, that Paris one was not cute. I dunno, she's too boring looking. But Iris was THRILLED that she got a new, dressed doll. Well for a few minutes anyway. Did you know that they can't bend their legs? Like they can't sit down? Terrible. Anyway, the other two were great! Inspiring. Meet Valentina. A Columbiana who restores classic cars. She was very happy with a Liv body. She might be Nadia's next girlfriend, w
