Halloween Weekend

Good Morning all,

Yesterday, we tried to watch as many child friendly Halloween movies as we could. Iris already loves Nightmare Before Christmas (but doesn't let us leave the room while it's on. A bit spooked?), so we watched that again.

Then the Hubs, always nostalgic and childlike pulled out Rankin and Bass's Mad Monster Party. Do you guys remember this one? Here's the trailer.



So for both of them, I now watched them with a different eye, the one sixth eye. Look at those props! When you look at Nightmare before Christmas, you can see how everything was handmade. Such amazing work.

And Mad Monster Party was no less impressive. I mean, cellophane as water? So primitive, yet so brilliant! Really inspiring stuff.

You may recall a couple of posts ago, when I talked about the new living room set I just bought. I spent a majority of the weekend preparing for its arrival.

I kicked Hana and Nadia out of their apartments. Sorry ladies! We'll set you up with something soon. This actually turns out for the best. Their back walls were "brick" which I really needed for my nightclub that I'll find space for one day.

So I actually painted two of the shelves in my Expedit shelf. One is light blue and the other is beige. One will have "hardwoods" and another will have beige carpet. I also painted some back wall panels (the Expedits are open on either side) and made some window cut outs.

You know I've realized, yeah I do sloppy cuts but the key for me might just be to learn to cover it up. So, working on that...

Hopefully by the time the furniture arrives, I'll be all set.

    Waaaai! What a cutie! I bet that one is gonna be a handful of deviousness when full grown! ;)

    I look forward of seeing some photos of the roomsets as they go through changes! Don't forget to snap one now & then!

    Oh I will. And I'll be needing opinions on which room looks better with my new couches. Before the week is up, I'm sure there will be some pics!

I'm home today, the kids are at school (half day), so I decided to take some pictures with my little window of time. I rarely show the gypsies and one of you guys requested it, so here they are! Ugh whatever. Just, here!

Folks, lemme tell you, I am so tired of my little big project. The big stuff was easy (spray painting and such). That was over weeks and weeks ago. It's been the small stuff. And I'm still nowhere near done but I'll do the rest in Phase Two (Bailey and Remi's wedding). I miss my dolls so hard. I have two new beauties I haven't even taken shots of.
