So I set up a club scene. Sometimes I have to set up a scene for me to solidify what is happening in my doll lives, even if I don't make it into a photostory. This scene was supposed to set up how Sooki met Johnny Tan, who is the hottest new resident of Grandville. Skater boy, goes to the local art school. Grandville. What do you think? I've been thinking about a name for my town for ages and I didn't like anything. I didn't want to make it too serious or two jokey joke. My mom is obsessed with Ancestry.com and an ancestor of mine was named Grandville Philantrope. They had some seriously crazy names back then. Another ancestor is Sephora Severe. Very Potteresque. Anyway, the name Grandville always tickled me. Sounds like a piano. And I guess the joke that "grand" means big in French and that the folks of Grandville are small.... And Grandville can be French or when pronounced incorrectly, it can also sound like small town America. I think it's a keeper. Anyway, TRAGEDY STRIKES GRANDVILLE ! Whenever someone tells me they ran a 10K to "challenge" themselves, I always roll my eyes. People always say stuff like that. I never understood why one would challenge themselves. What's the point? Either you can run 10k or you can't. Just do it because you want to, you're a fitness nut or it's a good cause. But to push yourself to see what you're made of? I never got this at all. And in things like art or writing, I always got spooked by the competition in a challenge, so I'd bow out. Because if you're not the best, what's the point? My people, I finally get it. Yay, she's here! I'm sad to say that I'm disappointed. Don't get me wrong. She's as gorgeous as I imagined and has a naughty sort of innocence that I hoped for but didn't expect. BUUUT: Take a look at the wings. Total hot glue mess. I can't even figure out how they attach to her. The cross on my coffin purse is totally scratched up: The spiked bracelets? Are you kidding?
