I Don't Want to Do This

Sigh. I don't know if you can tell by my posts, but I'm a very open person. I don't have secrets. I don't believe in them. You take away power from a person or thing when you are open and vulnerable. But enough about all my BS that's about to come to naught when faced with the horrors of revealing my mess to you. A few people did not want to post tours of their doll areas. Hey, we all have the right to privacy. Something so personal adds another (sometimes unwanted) dimension to your blogging, to your doll world. And I was sooooo confident I was going to show all ya'll my messy room and stand proudly behind it. And the few who don't want anything to do with this project just gave me confidence. Maybe we all have messy doll spaces? No one will judge me. Still, reviewing the video, I am nervous. Listen, it's messy okay? I'm a sloppy but clean person. So the only little creatures that may pop up are Iris and Isobel (human children). And ...

I have a zillion things on order right now, from doll stuff to kid stuff and nothing had arrived yet! Each day I return home looking at my front step in excited anticipation and each time it's just a stack of flat packages which can only mean one thing: comic books for the Hubs. *Sniff* The day before yesterday was much of the same. I'm sloppy. I'm starting to wonder if it's even in my personality to change that. I'm sloppy and clumsy in many aspects of my life, to which the neat freak husband will attest. So my doll creations are sloppy. Sometimes when I see the fine work you all are doing out there, I get down on myself, feel jealous and that I'll never be as good as you guys. But you know what? That's fine! I'm just going to go ahead and NOT listen to the lady at the dollhouse store talk to me about fancy pants glue and learn the hard way that Elmer's Glue is warping my foam core. So anyway, you know my doll "apartment building"? This thing: Well in the interest of space and not totally blocking all the light in this weird, cedar paneled room, I have flipped it vertical and let it sit on the floor. The room looks more open now, but there are a couple of issues: You can't really photograph the bottom shelf. I mean, I'd have to lay down on the floor and in my adv...
