I have been sick all week so forgive me if this post is hazy and devoid of humor. When I work on projects, I start 3 more before I finish one so I wondered if this would ever be completed. I still want to add some things. A hand dryer, a garbage can, more garbage on the floor and some scenic water in the beautiful toilet. This project was a lot of fun. I may try to do more gross things in the future. It takes less precision and yields better results than the "pretty" things I attempt. May I present to you: The Dive Bar Bathroom: Raven looks up at Sooki, "Man I'm gonna get  gonorrhea  from this nasty toilet." Sooki replies, "Well, that's the only way you'll get it, virgin." I finally got to take some shots last week when I had a few days off. Let me just say, Mademoiselle Marie is not easy to photograph. I don't know if her eyes reflect too much light but if she's not in a solo photo she's all blurry. Since she's Felix sister, I might as well give her brown eyes. In the meantime, I present to you, The Bachelor Party which features neither our favorite antagonist Hanna nor an actual Bachelor Party. What can I say, I had to seize the child free moments.

Just saw this on Pinterest and thought it might be of interest to you guys in your dio's. Not sure how much light it gives off but it could work in number of ways... They're individual fairy lights in little balls. I couldn't imagine using them in 1:1 life. How would you clean them up? Hi guys, good to be back! Let's get to it, I have a lot to cover. Basement Studio Like I said, I've moved my workshop into the basement. Soon I'll move all my crafty stuff down there and have upstairs purely as a showroom. So here's my workshop so far. Sigh. A work in progress. Dry Brushing I heart dry brushing. It's easy, it dries fast and even when you do a major screw up, it looks awesome. I strongly recommend it for those heavy of hand and prone to mistakes like me. I had one of these Barbie vanities. Was it a My Scene? The one that came with the leopard skin seat. It was originally peach I believe.  I painted it brown and it was serviceable but the model paint began to chip over the years, so I dry brushed it. Behold: It came out so well, I couldn't stop there. My next victim was the dining set I got in trade with Cat from Doll Affinity . I think this will go into Josephine's blue room. Sometimes I get bummed out when I see doll folks doing stuff I'm doing or what I've talked about doing. But I've come to realize that whether they are better than me or a pale imitation, whether they are intentionally copy-catting or just part of the collective consciousness, my voice in the doll world is unique. And me being absent leaves a void that some usurper is going to fill. Without me, where would your dolls know where to get the good drugs and whores? (hee) So I'm back basically. I'm working on a real post with the projects I've been working on, so sit tight. This weekend I'll post something. Fun News: The Hubs and I are sharing a studio space now, so lots of space for noise and chemicals. YAY!  Two Barbies are on their way! I have a stay-cation coming up so I might finally have time to work on the photostories surrounding the wedding. There was a time I could put my doll habit aside for months. When  not every single moment of my life was spent obsessing over the next story or project. This was before blogging. Now for every project, I pause and take a picture, I craft blog entries in my head and I can't wait to share XY or Z with you guys. The minute the project is done, I think of the next.  The audience adds a level of responsibility, accountability...and (self imposed) pressure. Sometimes I don't feel able to enjoy to my dolls because I know I'll have to report on what I'm doing.  For this and other reasons, I have come to a decision. So my dear friends, I take my leave of you. The blog will remain open, the website is still there and I'm still on Facebook and Tumblr (barely). Time to dedicate myself to some crafty kid related things.  Maybe even a kid craft blog so I can still get my writing in. Maybe I'll go to college. Help my dad garden in his golden years. Oh this month has been crazy my friends. Family trips and dogs biting toddler noses, teething, colds and fevers and birthdays, Mother's Day and work! So that's my apology for being MIA. But I do still get my craft on during kiddie bedtime so I have lots to show you. Let's start with Electropop Dayle. When last you saw us, she had a weird straight section in the front of her hair: First I dipped her curly hair in boiling water to encourage some lengthening.Then I conditioned and combed every inch of it and braided it in tiny braids. Then braided those into bigger braids and so on. Then I boiled it again. It came out beautifully and surprisingly unfrizzy. Now for the front.
